Early this morning, the resorts's maintenance crew knocked
on our door wondering if they could gain access to the condo to perform a
safety inspection of our fireplace. They said it was the last one on the list.
We allowed them to come in and they were finished by 10am. At that time, a
front-loader and several trucks pulled into the parking lot to start clearing
the tons of snow piled up. In doing so, they opened up an additional 5 parking
spots. So it was a very busy morning. As I was watching them, I walked over to
the lake and noticed that there wasn't any trail marks on the lake. I really
haven't seen anyone walk on the lake yet. Nor has there been any kite-skiing.
The maintenance people told me that the lake has only frozen over since
Christmas. I guess it isn't safe yet for any activities. The lake averages 80
feet deep.
Once we were able to get out of the parking lot, we again
went to Copper Mtn for our third day of Blue Bird skies. The only crowds we saw
were the little kids going to lunch after their ski class. They are going to be
the next Olympic stars. Temps remained in the low 30s so it was an enjoyable
day. We were tired so we didn't go to
our normal Thursday night at the Dam Brewery. Can we go for 4 Blue Bird days in
a row? We will find out tomorrow.
