Over night we received about 2 inches of snow. So we decided
to get up and try and leave early. We went to Copper Mtn and saw the new snow
and thought it would be a power day. However, it went down hill from there. The
lift from Union Creek to mid mountain had stopped running for at least 15
minutes and the lift lines were increasing. Many of he people were trying to
get off the line and try and find a different route. We waited it out and
finally the lift started to run. However as we started up, it stopped several
times. After making it to mid-mountain, we skied over to the Timberline lift.
That lift was a little better. However, it to, stopped several times. We did a
few runs and then we decided to go to Central Village
and catch the American Flyer lift to the top. As we skied down to it, we
noticed that no one was on the lift and then I asked a Ski Patrol person who
told me the lift had broken down and would be OOS for the rest of the day. With
that news, we decided to call it a DAY. We
went home to watch the snow melt off the roof and went to the local snow park
to see there ice sculptures. It was a very early Happy Hour day.
