Today we had the warmest morning and daytime temps so far.
Not sure whether it ever dropped below freezing, but at 7:30am, t was 40 degrees
going to a high of 51. It was partly cloudy all day and we went skiing at
Copper Mtn. There were a lot of families getting ready to ski. They must be
here because of Lincoln 's
bday on Monday. The ski train was getting ready to take them to the beginner's
trail. Lift lines were a little longer than normal, maybe 5-10 minutes. As we
skied, the snow became increasingly soft. You had to ski mid-mountain to the
top to find good snow. The sun and warm temps are taking its toll on the
mountain tops. A lot of bare spots are appearing. With temps to remain in the
40s and 50s, continued snow melt on the trails will be a thing to watch.
Tomorrow we will start our day real early to try and find the best snow.
