At 7am this morning it was 42 degrees already. The worse
part was the winds. They were blowing at a constant 25-35 MPH with gusts
reaching 60 MPH. Some mountain passes had gusts over 90 MPH. I70 was closed
east of the divide for many hours this morning due to overturned trunks near Georgetown . The wind did
create some interesting cloud formations over the mountain. However we decided
to try and get to Copper by 10am and brave the elements. The wind didn't keep
the vacationers from coming out and skiing. The lift lines exceeded 15 minutes.
The only line that was short was the one at the outdoor bar. By 12 noon, the
temp was near 50 degrees and we called it a day. Too many people skiing on very
soft snow doesn't make for safe conditions. Anyway, it is Friday and we need to
get ready for Happy Hour at the Sauce. Believe it or not, the forecast is now
calling for some snow overnight. We will see in the morning.

You would never wait 15 minutes in Camden Maine. Lift lines are 15 seconds, Ski the Sea
